the demi lune tulipwood and harewood cross banded and line inlaid top inlaid with rayed panels of satinwood divided by graduated husks and joined at the center by a fan medallion and with sabicu inlaid ovals, the outset corners with flower head patera, the conforming gilt wood frame with a fluted frieze within moldings of pearl beading, the tapered fluted legs headed by rectangular blocks with applied flower heads, and with turned toes.

Top in very good condition, with old waxed surface and good original color, the back edge still retaining old dirty patination. Minor age cracks overall following lines of construction and figuring of veneers. Some small repairs and replacements particularly to the crossbanding. The frame regilt with minor rubbing overall. The inner edge with old ochre and with some small patches and repairs.

In the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the present table is designed to fit within a pier, the broad cross-banding to the back edge being intended to be hidden by the straight lower edge of a pier mirror. The extended ends of the top are reminiscent of a table supplied by Chippendale for the Yellow Drawing Room at Harewood House in 1775 and, as with those on the top and apron of the Harewood table, the inlaid flower-head patera on the present table are of identical design to the carved gilt wood ones at the top of the legs.
