Description

the figure seated in dhyanasana and wearing a dhoti, his hands in dhyana mudra, on a double lotus base, 28cm., 11in; together with a bronze figure of a Bodhisattva, 17th century, wearing a dhoti and scarf, the rounded face surmounted with a crown, seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base

Condition

The figure of Buddha is in generally good condition but does have a (2cm x 1cm) area of damage to the base at the reverse (area of bronze missing). There is traces of lacquer gilding to the reverse of the dhoti. The Bhodisattva is generally in good condition but has sustained some damage to the lower area of the base at the front. There are some holes to the bronze to the right-hand side of the crown. There is traces of gilding to the crown and the dhoti.
