The work is in good condition. The accession number from Brooklyn Museum is writen on the base in red ink.

Catalogue Note
George D. Pratt was a friend of Carl Akeley as well as trustee of the Museum of Natural History, New York. Pratt, an early supporter of Akeley's sculpture, purchased the first cast of The Wounded Comrade (see lot 93).
