Condition

Original canvas. There are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light. Apart from minor pinholes along the right and left edges of the canvas, the work is in good original condition. Held in a simple, modern, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.

Catalogue Note

Folke Andreasson started out as a tailor before entering the Valand Academy in 1920. After his studies in Gothenburg he continued studying in France. The work of contemporary artists he met there, as well as of the Norwegian modernists, would have a lasting influence on his painting.
