Condition

Original canvas. There are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, and apart from some very light surface dirt, the work is in very good original condition. Held in a simple, modern, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.

Catalogue Note

Karin Parrow was born in the lighthouse of Vinga, outside Gothenburg. She was the sister of Evert Taube, the poet, and Märta Taube-Ivarson, Ivan Ivarson's wife.

She studied at Valand Konstskola in Gothenburg from 1926 until 1929 and thereafter at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris.
