Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, wear and discoloration to patina consistent with age and use. Minor dents and nicks in places to surface. Slight traces of dirt. Electrified.

Of American origin, Fuller was a regular performer at the Folies Bergère in Paris and with coregraphic creations such as Fire Dance, Fuller became the embodiment of the Art Nouveau movement. Fuller's pioneering work attracted the attention, respect, and friendship of many French artists and scientist,  including Jules Chéret,  Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, François-Raoul Larche, Henri-Pierre Roché, Auguste Rodin, Stéphane Mallarmé and Marie Curie.

Larche had his sculptural training under Jouffroy and Falguière at the École des Beaux arts. He won the second prize Grand Prix de Rome in 1886, having made his debut at the Salon two years earlier. He was awarded many honors over the following thirty years and received an impressive crop of state and public commissions during his fairly brief career. His work was acclaimed at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle and was awarded the gold medal for sculpture.
