4to (197 x 158mm.), ff. [4], 736 col., ff. [172], illustration: woodcut device on title-page, woodcut initial and tailpieces, binding: contemporary gdansk binding of calf with gilt double-fillet and roll-tooled border, gilt ruled to a panel design, corner fleurons, gilt central arabesque stamp on both covers, gilt name "H. Bartel. Schachman" on upper cover, spine gilt in compartments, later red morocco lettering-pieces, erased ownership inscription in English and dated 1637 on title-page, light spotting, couple of worm holes on upper cover, small hole in spine, binding rubbed affecting a letter of name, gilt rubbed or oxidised
Provenance
Bartell Schachman (d.1614), name on binding. Schachman was one of Gdansk's leading citizens, having been a councillor of the Right Main City from 1594 and mayor in 1605.
