Catalogue Note
Valla's examination of the Latin language, a corner-stone of Renaissance humanism, was first published at Rome in 1471. The first edition to contain Josse Bade's commentary was that printed at Paris in 1501 by André Bocard. The present edition is a reprint of Gryphius's 1534 edition.
