Catalogue Note
Peringskiöld pater filiusque were both steeped in the history and culture of their forebears and were successive secretaries to the Swedish College of Antiquities. The first of the works bound together here is a prose romance relating the exploits of Theodoric the Great, fifth-century king of the Ostrogoths, and is presented in Latin and both Old and modern Swedish. For another work by Peringskiöld senior, see Macclesfield Bibles, lot 2418.
