Catalogue Note
Jonsson's was the first grammar of the Icelandic language; indeed the first complete grammar of any Scandinavian language. A note on the final leaf reads "cost 13s 6d, binding 1s 6d". For George Hickes's 1689 Thesaurus which included this text, see Macclesfield English, lot 4044.
