Catalogue Note

Rousseau was a Frenchman who, in 1718, also wrote a fanciful history of Portugal from the creation of the World until 1580. The contents of this Portuguese-French grammar is made more palatable to its audience by the apparently random insertion of woodcuts, seemingly from a number of original sources, probably a Mythology, judging from the presence of Pyramus and Thisbe, Poseidon and Daedalus.
