first edition. Reland was professor of oriental languages and ecclesiastical antiquities at the university of Utrecht. The dissertations in this collection include: De reliquiis veteris linguae persicae, De persicis vocabulis talmudis, De linguis insularum quarundam orientalium and De gemmis arabicis. The last four pages of volume 3 contain the Lord's Prayer in fourteen languages.
