Catalogue Note

Olafs saga was originally written in Latin by Oddr Snorrason in the twelfth century, and survives in an Old Icelandic translation. This edition also provides a translation into modern Swedish and Latin.

Olaf Tryggvason was king of Norway from 995 to 1000 and converted the Vikings to Christianity. His saga also appears in Heimskringla (see lot 4752).
