Catalogue Note
Althuysen, priest-poet and one of the foremost proponents of the Frisian language in the mid-eighteenth century, was a translator of the Psalms but here pens verses on the accession of William IV, prince of Orange and Nassau.
Agop was an Armenian priest and his writings on his native tongue, many issued by the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, were important for the dissemination of knowledge of Armenian. Xorhrdatelr is a missal, containing the liturgy of St Athanasius used in the Armenian church, here provided with an Italian translation by Agop (see Kerkorian, Catalogue des "incunables" armeniennes (1512-1695) ou chronique de l'imprimerie arménienne (Geneva, 1986), 151).
