Catalogue Note

first edition. Happel was one the most-widely read novelists of his time. The present work is a comprehensive collection of geographical, scientific, ethnographical and cultural curiosities from around the world. The remarkable plates include a world map which illustrates the ocean currents, and magnified images of insects. The number of plates appears to vary.
