Catalogue Note
The panel stamp contains two heads in medallions, similar to Oldham HM.23. This type of stamp was common in England and the Netherlands (and this volume does have an early Netherlandish provenance), but is not apparently found in France (see Oldham p.27 and Fogelmark p.187).
