first edition of the earliest book about fontainebleau, an important record of the palace before the extensive alterations of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Eight of the nine illustrations are of the fountains after designs by Tommaso Francini, the ninth is a bird's eye view of the palace and gardens.
