Catalogue Note
Second edition, published with Bernardo Aldrete's Del origen y principio de la lengua castellana which is not present in this copy (see lot 4312 for the 1606 edition of Aldrete).
The present edition is possibly the source for a late seventeenth-century English manuscript translation of Covarrubias's work, which was also in the Macclesfield Library (Macclesfield English, lot 3935).
