Condition

Generally in good condition, possibly a sheet from an album. Some dirt especially on the margins. Paper defects creating some pleats on the right of the sheet. Overall pen and ink strong, the image in the catalogue is much weaker. Several tears at edges - top center, right edge several places. Edges slightly discolored. Ink and wash strong and clear

Catalogue Note

This seems to be by a Venetian hand, and is most closely related to the work of Fontebasso.  It could be a design for an operatic or theatrical costume.
