Condition

Laid down twice on an old mount with illusionistic border. The remains of an old horizontal fold across the centre. The brown ink is slightly sunk in parts, but otherwise the condition is good, and the drawing is still strong.

Ruggieri was a pupil first of Domenichino and then of Francesco Gessi, alongside whom he worked in Naples, on decorative schemes for the city's palaces and churches.
