Condition
The colours are slightly fresher than the illustration suggests.
The board is sound and is very slightly bowed in the centre otherwise in good overall condition.
Under ultraviolet light, there are some small minor spots of retouching in the sky above the right-hand figure.
Held in a painted and gilt wood frame with canvas inset.

Catalogue Note
Lamb first visited the remote Gola island off the coast of Donegal in 1912. He was instantly struck by its charm and wrote, 'I find myself in paradise.. the people are more lovely and more angelically dispositioned than on the mainland'.
