Condition
Original canvas. There is an area of impastoed paint along the upper edge which is slightly lifting and ridging and there are some minor specks of paint loss along the upper edge and one further speck to the trees below the centre of the upper edge. There are also some minor specks of lifting paint along the upper left edge and a small area of blooming along the right edge, otherwise in good original condition with strong passages of impasto throughout.
Under ultraviolet light, there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Held in a painted wood frame under glass; unexamined out of frame.
The colours are similar to the catalogue illustration.
