Description

  • height 22 1/4 in.; width 44 3/4 in.; depth 17 in.
  • 56.5 cm; 114 cm; 43 cm
with a rounded top mounted with a handle fitted with three iron clasps, opening to reveal an interior lined with paper, with two side clasps locking into key-hole lock plates, the central one fitting into a hook with two small front handles and two side handles.

Condition

Distressed with significant sections of leather missing along with bits of iron work. Leather surfaces worn and highly waxed but previously very dry, revealing the wooden underlayer. Oxidation to the iron work. Old worm to the visible wooden surfaces. Lifting to the iron work in areas, particularly to the central clasp. The interior with old work, scratches and surface dirt.
