Description
each piece colorfully painted with various floral specimens within a gilt-edged rim, comprising: an oval two-handled footed compote, a shaped oval dish, two smaller shaped oval dishes, two boat-shaped dishes, two lozenge-shaped dishes, two square-shaped dishes and eighteen plates, WEDGWOOD marks printed in iron-red, some with pattern number 492 in iron-red, green or gilding and various painters; marks. Some chips and haircracks. 28 pieces.

Condition
The fruit stand good other than minor wear to the gilt edges and handles, and slight scratching to the interior decoration.
11 7/8-inch oval dish with a 1/8 x 3/16-inch chip on the outer edge of the rim at the right end issuing a 2 3/4-inch hair crack; the gilt edge with slight wear.
Pair of 11-inch oval dishes - both good other than slight wear to the gilt edge.
Pair of 10-inch boat-shaped dishes - both excellent other than wear to the gilt edges, and the yellow-flowered dish with slight wear to that sprig.
Pair of 10 7/8-inch lozenge-shaped dishes - both with some stacking wear; one with considerable wear to the gilt edge; the other with the gilding almost completely worn off the edge.
Pair of shaped square dishes - the crocus dish with some wear to the decoration, a 1/4-in. haircrack to the rim and the gilding on the edge almost worn away; the other with only minor wear to the gilding.
Eighteen plates - All with minor stacking wear and slight scratching to the enamels and central glaze. Otherwise, fourteen in good condition BUT only four with very minor wear to the gilt rim edge; two with serious wear to the gilding, which is almost gone; and ten with various degrees of wear to the gilt rim edge. One has a shallow 1x1/4-in. chip to the upper rim edge. One has a minor 1/8-in. chip to the footrim. One with a 1/2-inch hair crack on the edge and consistent wear to the gilding around the edge. One with a 1/4-inch chip issuing a 7-inch hair crack, almost bisecting the plate, and its rim with considerable wear to the gilding.
