Description

  • height 7 in.; width 11 1/4 in.; depth 6 1/2 in.
  • 17.8 cm; 28.6 cm; 16.5 cm
with carved panels and late rococo silver mounts, apparently unmarked, the interior lined with red velvet and fitted with two tea caddies and a sugar box in mother-of-pearl, also with five scroll-back silver teaspoons by William Turner of London, c. 1760, and a shell-back silver teaspoon and pair of silver sugar nips, of similar date.

Condition

Overall good conditon, with very minor chips and losses to mother-of-pearl, minor wear to the velvet lined interior. The caddy containining: A Set of Five George II Silver spoons, circa 1755 with the maker's mark WT for William Turner, and engraved D to the reverse of the handle; a George III silver spoon with indistinct maker's mark BO, and engraved E.L to the reverse of the handle; a pair of George II Silver Sugar Nips with indistinct makers mark ...W.
