Description

  • height 29 in.; width 33 in.; depth 16 1/2 in.; depth open 33 in.
  • 73.5 cm; 84 cm; 42 cm; 84 cm
the top carved with a central lyre within a roundel within geometric motifs, opening to reveal a circular green-felt games surface decorated with a gothic rosette, above a lion-carved apron with griffon-headed carved square tapering legs terminating in paw feet; one side of the legs extendible.

Condition

The decoration has been refreshed, and partly regilt. Restored cracks to the top. Construction cracks to the inside flaps of the table, consistent with age. The gothic fabric central motif, is slightly loose in areas, but can easily be re-attached. Hairline age and construction cracks to the apron and legs in areas. Inside mechanism appears to be in very good condition (modern). Minor traces of worm to the platform underneath. In otherwise very good condition.
