comprising: a plain teapot, crested and engraved "Knight of the Garter," with ivory handle, by George Fox, London, 1865; a pair of baluster casters, by Charles Fox, London, 1830; a pair of circular pedestal salts, London, 1807; a large mug embossed with a horse and cart and engraved with presentation inscription, by Henry Holland, London, 1860; a pair of sauce boats, by Goldsmiths' and Silversmiths' Co., London, 1928; and a set four small silver-gilt oval salts with blue glass liners, Adie Bros., Birmingham, 1933. 12 pieces.

Catalogue Note

The mug is engraved, "Presented by W.H.P.G. Langton Esq., Taunton Agricultural Society, to Mr. H.H. Balls, for the best Acre of long red Mangold Wurzel. 23rd. Nov. 1860." Mangold Wurzel is a member of the beet family, used in the traditional Somerset sport of mangold hurling; for more information, see www.mangoldhurling.co.uk .

The crest on the teapot is that of de Losada.
