boldly painted with a flowering peony branch, a tulip, a carnation and other flowers within a basket-molded border further painted with four flower sprigs, crowned interlaced C's mark in underglaze-blue, and impressed numeral 5. Small rim chips, paste lumpy.
Condition
The paste very warty and with occasional speckles. The enamels have worn slightly because of the roughness of the porcelain, but also a little from use. The underside of the rim with a shallow 4-mm. chip at 9 o'clock, a 1-mm. chip at 9:30, and a 2-mm. chip at 4:00, 5:00 and 8:00 o'clock. This is not Ludwigsburg at its best, and the decoration may have been done outside of the factory.
