Catalogue Note
The teapot from this service, sold at Christie's in London on January 29, 1994, lot 75, is illustrated by Kroes, p. 179, cat. no. 91, who comments that the service was made probably for Balthasar Scott (1672-1741), a merchant and public functionary, who was one of the richest men in Amsterdam at the time of his death.
