Description

The dramatically flared and elegantly elongated diamond-shaped openwork body leading to the slender neck encircled by an iron ring beneath the stylized head with scooped heart-shaped facial plane and large disc-shaped eyes made of hippopotamus (hippopotamus amphibius) tooth beneath a rounded forehead with medial ridge and framed by lobed flanges, the whole covered with metal sheets; old label ('ROS126') on base; exceptionally fine, aged patina with oxidation on metal parts and traces of crystallized oil on the wood.

Very good condition overall; some weathering and insect damage to the bottom (base); body cracked, possibly broken, with indigenous repair (metal band).
