comprising: a Braserillo of fluted cup form on scalloped saucer base with shellwork rim, engraved with a name, unmarked; two Plates with scalloped fluted rims, both stamped with city and tax marks, one with owner's initials CIP, the other engraved underneath Cleta dias; a Mug with scroll handle applied with flowers, engraved underneath M.la.A.Cox.E, unmarked

Catalogue Note

The braserillo is engraved: Da. Guadalupe Boggio de Porras for Maria Guadalupe Poggio y Sanchez de Perales, who was born on 1 June 1827.  She was the sixteenth and youngest child of Don Felix Antonio Poggio y Salas, Rigidor of Nueva Guatemala, whose family was prominent in Guatemalan politics, the military and the arts.  She married Don Jose Maria Porras in 1850.
