Description

  • height 13 1/4 in. (33.6cm)
formed as a sphere decorated with panels and a band of roundels linked by leaves, with vacant cartouches on both sides, supported on an openwork stem centered by a juggling club and with four leafy branches extending upwards to cradle the cup, the square base with crossed clubs and a crouching hound, pig, hare and rat at angles, all on a circular plinth, the cover chased with geometric bands and with seated chimpanzee finial, gilt interior, in fitted leather case, marked on base rim
