the first of drum form, the body bright-cut and engraved with lattice borders and arms in a rococo cartouche, the cover with geometric border and floral swags, flower spray finial; the second caddy of plain oval bombé form, with wood knop finial, both marked on bases and covers

the engraved arms on the first caddy circa 1820, second caddy with small dent to body but not through, finial cracked

Catalogue Note

The arms on the first caddy are those of Sneyd of Keele Hall impaling Bagot for Walter Sneyd Esq., born 1752, M.P. for Castle Rising, High Sherrif 1814, and Lieut, Col. Staffordshire, and his wife the Hon. Louisa Bagot, daughter of William, 1st Lord Bagot.  He died in 1839 and she in 1834.
