rectangular with incurved sides, engine-turned, the cover applied with a crest and motto within a raised border of scrolling foliage, matching thumbpiece, the interior with contemporary presentation inscription, marked in base and cover

Catalogue Note

The crest is that of Marjoribanks.  The inscription reads: "To Stewart Marjoribanks Esq.re. Presented by the Members of the Witford Ldoge of FREEMASONS in Gratitude for his uniform kindness towards them and in testimony of their individual regard and esteem for his private worth. AL5841 AD 1837".
