first with some rubbing to gilding otherwise good, second with repairs to border of cover

Catalogue Note
The embossed arms on the first are those of Jones, for Thomas Heron, VII Viscount Ranelagh (1812-1885), Lieut. Colonel 2nd South Middlesex Volunteers 1860-85, K.C.B. (civil) 1881, Chairman of the Conservative Land Society, and promoter of the Volunteer Movement in England. He died unmarried in 1885 when the title became extinct.
