STRUCTURE
Original canvas with a small wax patch to the reverse, upper right.
PAINT SURFACE
There is a small pinhole to each corner with very minor associated paint loss. Some scattered paint separation to the darker areas of paint in the lower left and a layer of slihgtyl discoloured varnish throughout.
ULTRAVIOLET
UV light reveals a small patch of retouching corresponding to the aforementioned wax patch. There is a considerable patch of overpainting to the left side of the water, scattered retouchings to the separation in the lower left and some further scattered spots throughout.
FRAME
Held in a decorative gold composite frame.
