Exhibited
London, The British Council, Young Painters Competition
Condition
The canvas is original. There is an old repaired horizontal tear (approx. 1.5 in.) to the area just below centre (above central figure's elbow) with corresponding patch to the reverse. There is a slight inconstancy to the paint in the upper right corner which is probably intrinsic to the work. There is a very small inconsistency to the canvas at the upper left edge and some very minor abrasion at the extreme edges. There is some very light craquilure in places particularly to the area upper right of centre. Otherwise in good condition , clean and ready to hang. Ultraviolet light reveals a very small spot of retouching corresponding with the aforementioned restoration. Held in a simple wooden frame in fair condition.
