Condition

Original canvas with a small patch to the reverse, upper left. There are horizontal stretcher marks running across the upper and lower borders and some scattered craquelure throughout, with resulting 'cupping; to the paint surface in places. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor spots of retouching to the face and some infilling to craquelure on the forehead. Minor scattered spots elsewhere. Held in a decorative gilded composite frame.
