Condition
The canvas is original. There is a patch to the reverse, corresponding to the thick impastoed red paint at the centre of the composition; the paint surface here appears to be stable. There are some chips to the paint surface in the lower left corner and along the lower edge. Otherwise, this painting is in good condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some extremely minor retouching to the left of the chair and a further spot to the lime. Held in a simply carved wooden frame in fair condition.
