Catalogue Note

This particular pug-dog form, possibly a Lo-Sze pug, was one popularised by Fabergé.  Compare with a nephrite example by Fabergé, formerly in the collection of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, which sold, Sotheby's Geneva, 15 November 1996, lot 401.
