Description
- inkstand: 26 by 35cm, 10¼ by 13¾in.
comprising: two candlesticks, a tray, a desk-blotter and an inkwell with stand; all similarly decorated with reed and laurel and berries bands and applied with Pan-Slavic ornaments engraved with initials J af L, the marble stand mounted with a collar for a square cut-glass inkwell with hinged silver cover and surmounted with a figure of a winged messenger, the stand further inscribed 1831 21 Mai 1901 Der Freund Dem Freunde, 84 standard
Condition
There is a chip to the front base corner of the inkwell and what appears to be an old crack to the top left corner. The marble is in very good apparent condition. Overall the set is very attractive in overall good condition.
