Description

  • length: 39.5cm, 15½in.
with two-stage barrel retained by three nielloed silver bands, decorated over its surface with chased and nielloed silver flowers and foliage, steel tang covered with a long nielloed silver panel incorporating a calligraphic cartouche at the top, steel lock of characteristic form encrusted with gold scrollwork and stamped with a gold-lined mark on the bridle, retaining its leather thumb protector, leather covered full stock applied with nielloed silver panels, ivory ball pommel fitted with silver suspension ring with an early leather loop, faceted steel trigger and with no provision for a ramrod    

Condition

One barrel band a contemporary association. Pommel with age crack. Areas of light wear.
