- 32 by 26.5 cm., 12 1/2 by 10 1/2 in.
the Virgin's maphorion and Christ Child's robes highlighted in gold, against a muted background, with an elaborate oklad, the robes picked out with seed pearls, the halos and corner pieces similarly decorated in polychrome enamels, the borders chased with a scrolling vine motif, 84 standard
Condition
The bottom right corner plaque is loose. The gilding is quite tarnished and the icon would benefit from a professional clean.
Unexamined out of oklad.
UV light reveals no damage to the enamel.
