A Silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel miniature icon of the Hodigitria Mother of God, Maker's mark P.R. in Latin, unidentified, St. Petersburg, 1894, the icon possibly 18th century

the Mother and Child framed with a border simulating twisted rope, surmounted with a red, translucent enamel cross, further decorated with brightly enamelled, scrolling flowers, suspension loop, 84 standard

There is evidence of craquelure to the paintwork which has possibly been revarnished. The enamel and gilding appear to be in good condition. Light surface scratches to the border of the frame consistent with age and use. The wood-backing is probably a replacement. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
