Works form an Important Collection of Non-Conformist Russian Art, Brazil

Lots 624-633

The following ten lots come to auction from a collection of non-conformist art which was put together by a Brazilian diplomat during the first half of the 1970s. At a time when artists had no choice but to promote their own work in the face of aggressive opposition from the authorities, the support of foreign representatives in Russia ensured the artists' survival. This superb group includes rare and early works by Tselkov, Krasnopevtsev and Nemukhin spanning across the spectrum of Russian unofficial art.
