Condition
Original canvas. There is a layer of surface dirt and craquelure throughout. There are several patches of paint-loss in the top right quartile and along the left and upper edge, which reveals the light blue gesso. The corners of the canvas are stretched taut, which has resulted in undulation in these areas and along the left edge. The edges show lines of abrasion from a previous frame. The varnish has slightly discoloured. UV light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a silver painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
