Catalogue Note
Set to music by Konstantinov and choreographed by Boris Kniaseff, the ballet Picoli was first staged at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris in December 1940 during the German occupation. Mary Chamot describes the collage technique used in the design as 'typical of Goncharova's inventiveness'.
