Condition
The canvas has been lined. There is a layer of light surface dirt and a few fine lines of craquelure. There is evidence of paint shrinkage throughout. There is a very minor crease to the left edge. UV light reveals an uneven layer of varnish and two areas of retouching to the violin and in small patches of the background. Held in a simple wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
