Condition
Original canvas which is a little loose on the stretcher. The paint surface is slightly dirty and there is a layer of discoloured varnish. There are patches of paint shrinkage and areas of craquelure visible in the catalogue image. UV light reveals an opaque layer of varnish with a few spots of retouching to one area of the sitter's corsage, a spot in the lower right hand quadrant and some infilling to the aforementioned paint shrinkage along the top left hand edge. Held in a bronze painted plaster frame. Unexamined out of frame.
