Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting on canvas seems to be unlined. The paint layer has been cleaned and varnished. There are a few retouches which have been added in the hair against the face and on the right side of the face. There are a couple of other random spots of retouch that have been added in the upper left and in the center right. The restoration is perhaps a little broad and may be reexamined. Any slight thinness in the pentimenti in the fabric on the right side is most likely intentional. Overall this painting is in good condition.
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues.
